When booking a trip departing within six weeks, particularly during peak periods like the holidays (December 20-January 2) or in June, there is an additional $100 fee per hotel reservation. This fee will be waived if we can secure your choice with minimal effort. Conversely, there are times when we may be unable to accommodate last-minute bookings.
Last Minute/Holiday Bookings
In unique cases where a reservation is non-commissionable or the hotel doesn’t offer it, a booking fee equivalent to 15% of the total room rate (pre-tax) is incurred. This is very rare and mostly found in tiny towns in Europe. I’ll always communicate in advance of this situation. Your trust and satisfaction drive are my top priority.

While DeFehr Travel isn’t a certified travel insurance provider, I’m here to assist by sharing reliable travel insurance quotes from a trusted source. These are available through Brownell Travel’s dedicated insurance desk as well as third party insurance providers. Safeguarding your journey is paramount, and I wholeheartedly advise all clients to secure comprehensive travel insurance.
Travel Insurance
Air travel is a crucial component of crafting a luxury itinerary. As a proud affiliate of Brownell, I extend access to our dedicated air team, enhancing your trip. Air ticketing involves a fee of $125 per person for international bookings and $500 max per household. Domestic, North American and Caribbean involves a fee of $60 per person and $200 max per household. There is no fee for airfare if purchased as part of an air/hotel package through a supplier.
I work alongside commercial and private aviation suppliers to offer quotes for both trip packages and individual requests.

Please note, all planning fees for DeFehr Travel are non-refundable and cancellation fees do apply ($50-150 per adult dependent on service). For other trip partners (hotels, guides, cruise lines, etc.), their respective cancellation policies, as outlined in our quotes, apply.
